In the United Arab Emirates a new sensation has taken over both the press and de people. The vending machine that has just been inaugurated is called “Gold-to-Go” and it sells bars of one, five and ten grams and one ounce. Other things that can be bought from the golden vending machine are various gold coins ranging from the Canadian Maple Leaf, to Australian Kangaroo and the South African Kruggerands.

The gold machine can be found in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The machine has a self-operating system that shuts down if anything appears to be strange in an operation. In June 2009, a prototype of this machine was installed in Frankfurt airport. The vending machine is coated with 24 karat gold and weights half a tone. The prices are continuously updated but one must know that they are a bit higher than the ones on the markets.

A recent survey shows that last year the amount of gold jewelry bought in the Emirates reached 68 tons. The local production of gold was of 36 tons and the three refineries are doubling their production this year.

The yellow metal has proved to be a very good asset to own these days especially with the crisis in Greece and the fluctuations in the euro zone. If you want to buy you should know that the metal can be found in various forms ranging from physical gold such as gold bars and coins to gold shares and accounts.

Many people have decided to take the advice of the economists and have started to invest in physical gold. If you believe that gold bars are just too much for you, then you should take into consideration investing in gold coins. Some of the most important coins that can be found on the market are the Kruggerands, the Canadian Maple Leaf Coins, the Australian Kangaroos and also the Austrian Philharmonic gold coins. All you have to do is decide which gold product you feel more comfortable with and then start investing.
