Taos Restores Historical Locations To Provide Unique Vacation Experience

The Taos Territorial District of New Mexico sits nestled beneath the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wagner Casitas A and B, traditional adobe mud homes, were originally constructed in 1875. Each casita is 450-square feet, with original art at every turn and each has been hand painted by local artist Jim Wagner. Private courtyards, hot tubs and cozy bedrooms have been added to these traditional residences to create a modern southwest feel.

The Chicken Coop, a two-bedroom building, includes a private natural stone steam room and Jacuzzi. As the name indicates, this home sits atop the location of the land’s former chicken coop, and is beautifully decorated as a private residence. This spot provides outstanding views of the Taos Mountain with high ceilings and open space, The Chicken Coop is an elegant space in the middle of a unique community.

The most spacious building on the compound is the two-story Territorial House. Restored in 1998, this large hacienda boasts hand carved furniture, hanging art pieces and rich colors. While the private telescope and large entertainment room provide a modern flair, the open verandas and an outdoor Jacuzzi with waterfall create the elegant feel of this grand home.

Each of the four buildings has its own unique story, weaved into the decor and amenities. Through furniture, hanging art and elegant accommodations, these homes provide a true New Mexico vacation.

Other rental communities such as the Taos Adobes and the Old Taos Guesthouse have been preserved and restored to provide an unforgettable experience for their visitors.
